Jungle Crows
The Jungle Crows are the newest rugby team playing in the city of Kolkata (Calcutta), India. We were formed in May 2004. The Jungle Crows have now participated in rugby at every level both in Kolkata and around India.

The Crows first ever match took place in the Giorgiardis Sevens hosted by Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CCFC) in August 2004. The Crows entered two teams in this tournament and in their first match they ran out winners against CCFC.

Each season the Jungle Crows play in the  two Kolkata fifteen-a-side tournaments: the Calcutta Cup and the Centenary Cup. The Calcutta Cup is the principal fifteens tournament in Kolkata and runs through the monsoon season normally from July to August.

The winners of the Calcutta Cup go on to play in the “All-India and South Asia Tournament”, which rotates annually between Kolkata’s CCFC Club and Mumbai’s Bombay Gymkhana.

The Jungle Crows run their own Rugby Development Programme.  We have teams playing Tag Rugby at under 11 and full rugby at under 13, under 16 and under 19.  Our juniors have tasted success and we are now the third ranked under 19 team in India.
